[18/02/2010] Kyrgyz Parliament supports the law «General Technical Regulation on Radiation Safety»

 Today at the  plenary session of Jogorku Kenesh deputies supported the law  «General Technical Regulation on  Radiation Safety». 

According to the speaker Mr. Sabirjan Abdikarimov, deputy Minister of Healthcare, Chief Sanitary Officer ensuring radiation safety is a prerequisite for development of a general technical regulation targeting at  those activities related with   radiation impacts including production and use of radiation sources and radioactive materials.

[27/01/2010] RUSSIA: Russian State Duma passed a bill «On Radioactive Waste Management»

A unified state radioactive waste (RAW) management system is currently being established in Russia. As IA Regnum reported on 20 January 2010 the State Duma of Russian Federation passed a bill «On Radioactive Waste Management» in the first reading. This law regulates the standards in the sphere of radioactive waste isolation (dumping), state registration, storage, control, as well as exercise of radiological situation and monitoring control. [18/11/2009] KYRGYZSTAN: CA representatives discuss new project on mobilization of resources for transboundary radioactive waste management in Central Asia

21881A new regional project «Strengthening Coordination of Project Formulation and Mobilization of Resources for Sustainable Radioactive Waste Management in Central Asia» was discussed yesterday at UN House. The round table with participation of representatives of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as ministries and agencies, NGO, National Science Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic was initiated by the UNDP in Kyrgyzstan and Environment and Security Initiative in Central Asia.
