KYRGYZSTAN: Interim Government of Kyrgyzstan signed a Resolution on establishment of Agency on Atomic and Radiation Security

Chairwoman of the Interim Government of KR, Roza Otunbaeva signed a Resolution on establishment of the Agency on Atomic and Radiation Safety under the Ministry of Emergency Situations  of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Agency on Atomic and Radiation Safety is an independent subdivision within the Ministry of Emergency Situations  of the Kyrgyz Republic regulating atomic and radiation security.

The aim of the Agency is to implement state policy in atomic and radiation security. Its tasks are development of technical regulations and other regulatory documents, as well as coordination of organizations dealing with radiation and atomic security and development of proposals to attract investments.

The functional tasks of Agency are the control over compliance of international norms and rules, conducting inspections and evaluation of organizations in this area, dissemination of knowledge on protection of population and territories from radiological risks, etc.
